Great to see Whitminster CoE is still going strong. I was there in 1942-43 before moving on to Crypt GS. I'm 75 now but still remember a monster tin of cocoa exploding on the cast iron coke-burning stove and showering the classroom in powder when someone forgot to remove it. The whole school used to go out and collect bags and bags of rose hips which went off to be made into syrup. We also played a rough sort of ice hockey when the cut froze over. Sadly there were no school clubs in those war-time days, though the school did put on a play, The Bishop's Candlesticks, in the village hall. Greetings from Edinburgh.

Whitminster is a village I knew well as a boy. The Harwoods are buried in the Church The Harwood family were related by marriage to many of the local families.
