Hello!
Summer has arrived ! I was very sad to hear Mrs. Evans had left the school she was a terrific colleague. I wish Mrs. Hoskins all the best in her new position. I am now working in a school with 600 pupils !!! Hope I get the chance to pop in and see you before the end of the summer term.
best wishes from Mrs. Nolder

Great to see Whitminster CoE is still going strong. I was there in 1942-43 before moving on to Crypt GS. I'm 75 now but still remember a monster tin of cocoa exploding on the cast iron coke-burning stove and showering the classroom in powder when someone forgot to remove it. The whole school used to go out and collect bags and bags of rose hips which went off to be made into syrup. We also played a rough sort of ice hockey when the cut froze over. Sadly there were no school clubs in those war-time days, though the school did put on a play, The Bishop's Candlesticks, in the village hall. Greetings from Edinburgh.

I was very pleased to see Whitminster C of E Primary School on the net. I went to the school in 1945 and I have only just left school (after teaching for 40 years) - so I must have enjoyed my time there!

Whitminster is a village I knew well as a boy. The Harwoods are buried in the Church The Harwood family were related by marriage to many of the local families.
They lived close to the school on the A38. The school did a very good job educating my Grandfather. He finished up as The Dockmaster at Barry Island South Wales. In their retirement they returned to Eastington to live.
