Janne Bunting - Foundation Governor
I have lived in Whitminster since 1976, although I have no children have been a supporter of the school. I am retired from ICI/DuPont having had lots of different positions in the Factory ending up as Supervisor of Distribution and Warehouse. I am here on behalf of the Church and feel very privileged to be a part of a vibrant and forward thinking school. I became a Governor in 2004.

Richard Amys - Foundation Governor
I was appointed to the parish in June 1999. I have a background in retailing and have been a school Governor at primary and secondary schools in Kent. I look forward to further strengthening the links between church and school in the future.

Doug Blackstock - Parent Governor
I am a parent governor and live in Whitminster. My school responsibilities include being a member of the Finance Committee with curriculum responsibility for Geography and assessment. My day job is as a director of The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

Keren Mattfield - Community Governor
I moved to Standish two years ago after living all my life in Bristol where I was Vice Chair of governors of an inner city secondary school. I have two grown up daughters and a year ago I made a 'quality of life' decision to give up my job as a lawyer. I am very much enjoying being a governor at Whitminster and hope my spare time and experience is useful. I am proud to be part of the growing success of Whitminster and aim to play my part in continuing to build on that success.

Maria Keitch - Parent Governor
I have lived in Whitminster for 5 years and have two young children attending Whitminster School. I became a Governor as I wanted to become more involved in my children's education and their life at school. I work for the Healthy Schools Team at Gloucestershire County Council and feel the experience I have gained through my work will be an asset to the School.

Foundation Governors:

Appointed by the P.C.C's of Whitminster and Moreton Valence Churches.
He/She is a practising Christian.
The Foundation Governor should promote a Christian approach to the curriculum.
He/She accepts that the Church has a distinctive contribution to make in the sphere of education.
He/She has a general sympathy for children and a concern for their interests, aspirations and needs and a keen sense of the trusts which parents in sending their children to the school, place in the integrity of Governors and staff.
He/She is prepared to present the Diocesan Board of Education?s view to the Governing body on any particular matter.
There is no requirement that Foundation Governors should be P.C.C. members.

Controlled Schools own their origin to the Church. Under the terms of the 1944 Education Act, "the Church conceded control" to the LEA's which meet the full cost of future capital projects, upkeep, repairs and the conduct of the Schools.
